GIANTX Wins Madrid’s Heart in a Historic Weekend for European Esports
Subtitle: Around 10,000 fans fill the Madrid Arena to enjoy the best League of Legends in the continent.
Madrid / Málaga. Monday, April 28, 2025. The Malaga-based esports club GIANTX returns from Madrid with a high-caliber victory, top-tier performances, and the affection of thousands of fans. The 'LEC Roadtrip', hosted by Movistar KOI, was a resounding success in both attendance and organization, with GIANTX taking center stage.
The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) temporarily moved its headquarters from Berlin to Madrid, confirming the incredible passion of the Spanish community. Nearly 10,000 spectators packed the Madrid Arena across two days of intense competition where every match was decided in the final map.
A Historic Milestone Against G2
On the competitive side, GIANTX started the weekend in the best possible way by defeating G2, the historic dominator of the league. GIANTX had never beaten G2 before, finally breaking the streak after an intense three-map battle.

Map 1: Lot and Jackies led the way with massive performances on Jax and Yone.

Map 3: Despite facing an imperial Caps, widely considered the greatest European player of all time, GIANTX completed an unforgettable comeback, showing incredible mental strength.
In Sunday’s clash against KOI, GIANTX pushed the series to a third map thanks to a stellar Tristana performance in the second game. However, the hosts delivered the final blow, leaving the giants with a bittersweet result but immense support from the crowd.
LEC Standings: GIANTX currently holds a 2-5 record. They must defeat Team BDS and Team Heretics in the coming weeks to contend for a spot in the LEC playoffs.
